Blog posts are like buses...

I know, I know. Nothing for months then 2 posts in a week. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf, starting with a little review of what I've been up to over the last week.

Studio 61

As I mentioned in my last post I am currently exhibiting at Studio 61 Gallery Boutique in Derbyshire. The start of this week saw the last minute preparations for my exhibition: Labelling up my jewellery for display and practising how to arrange it. Tuesday started with a long drive up to Derbyshire to set up the exhibition and, as it was only an hour from my hometown of Doncaster, a meet up with my parents for lunch before the drive back home just in time to pick the boys up from nursery. It's unusual for me to see my parents without having the boys around, so it was great to actually be able to have an uninterrupted conversation with them for once!

Jewellery Exhibition

Yesterday was the start of my very first jewellery exhibition at Studio 61 in the lovely village of Holloway just outside of Matlock.

New Year, Same Old Resolutions?

So here we are, the start of another new year. 2012, the year the Olympics comes to the UK, the year of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (an extra Bank Holiday - yippee!!) and most importantly the year I sort my life out! Well, at least according to my long list of New Year resolutions.

So far, my resolutions are pretty much stored in my head. Hmmm, that's a bit too convenient isn't it? Easy to forget them, or pretend they never existed when I fail miserably by the start of February! So I figured it's time to put pen to paper (or fingertips to keyboard!) and get them in writing.

Lyndsey James Photography

In August, I won the most fantastic competition on Twitter. The competition was run by Lyndsey James Photography and the prize was for 5 lifestyle product shots, worth £150. To enter the competition I had to look out for specific tweets by Lyndsey, all featuring the tag #LJWIN and retweet them. It sounded like a wonderful prize and so over the next week or so I made sure I followed her closely and retweeted all the#LJWIN tweets I saw.

When Lyndsey announced me as the winner I was over the moon. I'd been up since 4:30am with the kids so was expecting it to be a bad day but she turned it around in an instant!
